2021 Solid Fuel Scheme Launch

Ellingham Parish Council’s 2021 Solid Fuel Scheme has been launched.

If your primary residence is within the Parish of Ellingham you can apply to Ellingham Community Trust for a free supply of solid Fuel.

If you do not have an open fire or log burner it is still worth taking advantage of this offer. Ellingham Community Trust buys in bulk, the more we can buy, the better value achievable. It is acceptable to sell the fuel (please ask a Trustee for contacts of people who would buy) or to pass on as a gift. Alternatively, you can request to receive a cash sum from the Trust.

The deadline for applications will be 8th August 2021.

Phone Buddy System Set Up by Ellingham Village Hal

Ellignham Village Hall Committee know that we all feel lonely sometimes but the Covid-19 situation has made it difficult meeting family and friends for a cuppa and a chat. Everyone misses the monthly coffee mornings for a catch up over cake. Not being able to meet in person, a “phone buddy” project is being set up to keep in touch.

If you would like a regular (or occasional) phone call, know someone in the
community who would benefit from this, or would like to be a volunteer for
this scheme then please contact either Chris Stevenson on 01665 589 298
or Eileen Duncan on 01665 589 293, or any other member of the Village
Hall Committee.

Community Consultation on Use of Windfarm Money

Ellingham Community Trust want your views on the use of the Windfarm funding. Click here for the consultation information and form.

In 2019 Ellingham Community Trust was approached by both Ellingham Village Hall and the Church of St Maurice, Ellingham for funding towards the rebuilding of the Village Hall and refurbishment of the Church.  After extensive discussions, Trustees agreed in principle to provide funding, conditional on the community agreeing to each of the projects.

  • Ellingham Village Hall would receive a maximum of £168,000 over twelve years
  • St Maurice’s Church, Ellingham would receive £60,000 over five years

Ellingham Community Trust will continue to support the initiatives that are presently in place, at their current level including the Domestic Appliance Scheme, the Solid Fuel Scheme and the Personal Development Scheme.

The closing date for votes is 8th September.
